The song, a cover of Jason Zhang’s 2016 hit, was released in China through Tencent Music Entertainment and amassed over a million streams in its first week. Already one of the most successful international artists in China, Westlife is hugely popular on social platforms Weibo and WeChat Channels. They hold the record for the largest live audience for a livestream concert, dueting with Backstreet Boys and drawing 44 million real-time viewers on WeChat.
In the past year, Westlife played 13 stadium shows and 10 arena shows, performing to over 300,000 fans across China, marking the biggest tour by an international artist in Greater China.
"Love + Courage" was created using Kugou AIK, the world's first multi-lingual AI singing technology, which can recreate vocals in 10 languages and 15 Chinese dialects. Westlife supervised the entire creative process to ensure the final version was a perfect reflection of their voices.
Tencent Music Entertainment expressed their commitment to deepening Westlife’s connection with Chinese fans. Their collaboration with Westlife aligns with their mission to create endless possibilities with music and technology.
Westlife stated, "The fan response from us singing 'The Ordinary Road' in Mandarin was overwhelming. This felt like another fun thing to do for our Chinese fans. It took months to perfect, and we are thrilled with the final version. We hope our Chinese fans love it!”
