The story begins on Christmas Eve at the Shtalbaum family's grand house, where children eagerly await gifts. Among the guests is the toymaker Drosselmeier, who brings presents and entertains the children with mechanical dolls. One of these, the Nutcracker, catches young Masha's attention. A game turns awry when the Nutcracker is damaged, but Drosselmeier swiftly repairs it. That night, Masha dreams of an epic battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, ultimately helping the Nutcracker emerge victorious. In the dream’s climax, Masha and the Nutcracker are transformed into a beautiful boy and girl. The journey continues as they visit a magical island where a festival celebrates their triumph. As dawn breaks, Masha awakens, and the dream fades, leaving behind the wonder of the night.
