The store, located at Jelita Shopping Centre on Holland Road, will officially close its doors on Sunday, 22 September 2024, marking the end of an era for the well-known English-language book retailer.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Times Bookstores reflected on its long history, saying, "After decades of creating magical memories and sharing countless stories, the time has come to close the final chapter of Times Bookstores." The store has been a familiar presence in Singapore's literary landscape, offering a wide range of books and creating a space for book lovers.

This closure is the final one in a series of shutdowns for the retailer. In 2019, Times closed its Centrepoint store, followed by the Marina Square and Paragon outlets in 2021. Earlier this year, its Plaza Singapura and Waterway Point branches also ceased operations, leaving the Jelita store as the last bookstore standing.
For many, the departure of Times Bookstores signals the end of a beloved chapter in Singapore’s retail scene. Fans of the bookstore are encouraged to visit the Jelita store before its final day of operation this Sunday, to say farewell to a brand that has been part of the local community for so long.
