In an exciting collaboration, the renowned Japanese animation studio behind classics like My Neighbor Totoro (1988), Spirited Away (2001), and Howl’s Moving Castle (2004) is bringing an exhibition to Singapore’s ArtScience Museum. Opening on 04 October 2024 and running until 02 February 2025, this marks Studio Ghibli’s first exhibition in Singapore.

The exhibition, titled The World of Studio Ghibli, will feature 11 galleries across 2,400 square meters, showcasing 11 of the studio’s beloved films. Visitors can immerse themselves in 16 large-scale sets that recreate iconic scenes, such as waiting at the bus stop in the rain with Totoro or sitting in a train carriage with the No-Face spirit from Spirited Away. Additionally, 16 art installations will offer insights into the creative process behind these films.

First presented in Japan in 2013, the exhibition has traveled to South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, evolving along the way. The Singapore iteration will include new elements from Studio Ghibli’s latest film, The Boy and the Heron (2023).
