Artisanal Heritage and Modern Innovation

Terrazzo, with a history reaching back to ancient Egypt, has long been prized for its beauty and durability. Spolia, produced by Quiligotti, the last remaining large-scale terrazzo manufacturer in Britain, upholds this tradition with a modern, sustainable approach.
Quiligotti, a family-owned business with Italian heritage, has been crafting high-quality terrazzo in the UK since 1935. They utilize locally sourced materials and explore a variety of aggregates, including metals, brick, mother-of-pearl, and now demolition waste, to ensure each Spolia tile is meticulously crafted.
Sustainability at the Core

Sustainability is at the heart of Spolia's production process. Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are in progress, and carbon footprint data is available through the One Click LCA system. By incorporating demolition waste as aggregates and using low-carbon cement as a binder, Spolia significantly lowers the environmental impact of terrazzo production.
Moreover, its UK-based manufacturing reduces transportation emissions and bolsters local communities. The exceptional durability and repairability of terrazzo further extend its lifespan, minimizing its overall environmental footprint.
