Singaporean Households Can Now Redeem $300 CDC Vouchers

Every Singaporean household is now eligible to claim $300 in Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers, which can be used for daily expenses. These vouchers are divided equally, with half available for spending at participating hawkers and heartland merchants, and the other half for supermarkets.

The government has introduced enhancements to the CDC vouchers scheme, including an additional $600 in vouchers. The first $300 will be distributed at the end of June 2024, and the remaining $300 will be available in January 2025.

Initially launched in June 2020 during the pandemic, the CDC vouchers scheme aimed to assist lower-income households with daily expenses and support local merchants and hawkers. It was expanded to all households in December 2021 to show appreciation for Singaporeans' solidarity and to bolster heartland businesses as they recovered from the pandemic. Despite the end of the pandemic, persistent high inflation, due to supply chain constraints and the war in Ukraine, has led to ongoing concerns about daily expenses. This prompted the government to continue and enhance the scheme.

How to Claim and Use Your CDC Vouchers

Starting June 25, Singaporean households will receive a notification letter with instructions on claiming and spending their $300 CDC vouchers for June 2024. The process remains consistent with previous rounds: one household member must visit go.gov.sg/cdcv and log in with their Singpass to claim the digital vouchers on behalf of the household.

Once claimed, the applicant will receive an SMS with a unique voucher link from "RedeemSG" (before July 1) or "gov.sg" (from July 1 onwards) sent to their registered mobile number. This link can be shared with other household members. The SMS links for the January 2024 and June 2024 CDC vouchers are different, and both sets are valid until December 31, 2024.

Participating hawkers and heartland merchants can be identified by a teal CDC voucher decal, while participating supermarkets will display a yellow decal. Residents can also find a list of participating businesses at go.gov.sg/cdcvouchers.

By continuing the CDC vouchers scheme, the government aims to alleviate the financial burden on households and support local businesses amidst ongoing economic challenges.
