Renowned English singer and actress Sarah Brightman will make her Asian theatrical debut in February 2025, performing in the musical Sunset Boulevard at the Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Brightman will portray the iconic role of Norma Desmond, a former silent film star yearning for a return to the limelight. This marks the first time Sunset Boulevard will be staged in Singapore.
Sarah Brightman is widely known for originating the role of Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera (1986), and now she returns to the stage in another Webber masterpiece.
About Sunset Boulevard
Sunset Boulevard is a renowned musical adaptation of the 1950 film of the same name, featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and a book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. The story follows Norma Desmond, a forgotten silent film star who clings to dreams of a comeback as the advent of talking pictures leaves her behind. When struggling screenwriter Joe Gillis stumbles into her world, he becomes entangled in her delusions of faded fame and desperate ambition.
The musical debuted in London in 1993 and opened on Broadway in 1994, winning seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Book. Iconic songs like "With One Look" and "As If We Never Said Goodbye" have made Sunset Boulevard a staple of musical theatre.
