KKH Launches New Video Consultation Service 'KK TelePaeds' for Non-Emergencies in Children

KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH) has recently introduced KK TelePaeds, a video consultation service specifically designed for non-emergency situations involving children aged 3 to 17. This innovative service, launched on 04 July 2024, is managed by the Children’s Emergency team at KKH.

Imagine you are about to leave for work, but your child is crying and scratching incessantly, or experiencing diarrhea that makes you consider staying home. In these uncertain scenarios, KK TelePaeds provides a convenient solution, allowing you to consult a specialist via Zoom from the comfort of your home.

Parents and caregivers can book appointments up to a day in advance through a Singpass account. The service operates from Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6 pm, excluding public holidays. The consultation costs S$118, with an optional medication delivery service available for S$4.99 within four to six hours, or free self-collection from the KKH Children’s Emergency pharmacy.

KK TelePaeds is suitable for conditions such as diarrhea, mild abdominal cramps, dry skin, eczema flare-ups, skin infections, and respiratory tract illnesses (like sore throat, runny nose, and cough) with fever lasting less than five days. However, it is important to note that this service is not for urgent or emergency care, and in such cases, parents should call 995 or visit the nearest medical facility.

During the video consultation, electronic medical certificates and specialist referrals can also be provided if necessary. For more information, parents can visit the KKH website directly at www.kkh.com.sg/kk-telepaeds.
