Expansion of capacity limits for wedding receptions and marriage solemnisations

“From 3 October 2020 onwards, the government allows wedding receptions and marriage solemnisations to have 100 attendees.”

Beginning from 3 October 2020 onwards, the government allows wedding receptions and marriage solemnisations to have 100 participants (including the wedding couple but excluding vendors and service providers), subject to the area capacity. The attendees should be split into either multiple zones of up to 50 people each or staggered timings with up to 50 people each as well. The 30 minutes intervals between slots are needed to conduct cleaning and disinfection of the event area. If the event area can't adhere to zoning or staggered timings requirements, the number of attendees should be lowered.

Wedding receptions conducted at Housing Development Board (HDB) void decks and Multi-Purpose Halls will also be allowed from November 2020 onwards. While waiting for the date confirmation and further details regarding this initiative, couples might want to consider having their events at function rooms and multi-purpose halls at community centres/clubs, as well as some event spaces for rental such as the latest event space by WOLA that features flexible setups suitable for wedding events.
