Events in SG: Solemnisation, Wedding Reception, Birthday Party, Corporate Event can resume!

Singapore allows birthday parties, anniversaries, D&Ds, gala dinners to resume as of 29 March 2022.


Further easing of Covid-19 rules that you need to know from 29th March 2022!

[NEW] Social events and large-scale social gatherings:

Birthday celebrations, anniversaries, gala dinners and corporate dinner-and-dance events (D&Ds)

  1. As of 29th March 2022, these events mentioned above are permitted to resume.

  2. Not more than 10 Pax per table.

  3. 1m safe distancing to be maintained between tables.

  4. Food is allowed but must be served individually. (Self-service buffet is not permitted, only individual portion is allowed).

  5. All attendees must still check in to the event using TraceTogether-only SafeEntry unless the venue is already subject to SafeEntry and VDS checks separately.

 

Marriage Solemnisation & Wedding Reception:

Short summary of the changes that happen as of 29 March 2022 for the above events.


Mask wearing, Group Size and Safe Distancing

  1. From 29 March 2022, mask-wearing will only be required for wedding events in indoor settings. It will be optional, but encouraged for wedding events in outdoor settings.

  2. For wedding receptions and solemnisations with mask-off settings, they must be split into groups of up to 10 attendees each and to maintain at least 1-metre safe distance between groups, at all times.

  3. In all mask-on setting, organisers must ensure that attendees are wearing face masks, with the exception of the bride and groom who may wear face shields during the event instead. The bride and groom may also remove their face shield or mask for key moments only (e.g. when exchanging vows for rings, kiss, march-in/outs) and maintain a safe distance of at least 1 metre from others at such times.

  4. Masks may be removed momentarily for photo-taking at all setting, and must be worn immediately after the photos are taken

Food & Beverage

  1. From 29 March 2022, F&B not only can be served at wedding receptions but also can be served at the marriage solemnisations.

  2. Self-service buffet is not permitted, only individual portion is allowed and must be served individually to attendees.

Live Performances

  1. From 29 March 2022, live performances and activities including singing, playing of wind instruments and dancing will be allowed for marriage solemnisation and wedding receptions.

  2. Performers must comply with the 1 m safe distancing requirement and the prevailing group size for mask-off activities if they are performing without wearing masks.

Attendance Control & Contact Tracing

  1. All attendees must still check in to the event using TraceTogether-only SafeEntry unless the venue is already subject to SafeEntry and VDS checks separately.

Religious Activities

The main changes affecting religious activities from 29 March 2022:

  1. The permissible group size increases from previously 5 to 10 persons for mask-off activities.

  2. Mask-wearing will continue to be required for indoor settings but optional for outdoor settings.

  3. Congregational singing and chanting (with masks on) will be allowed.

  4. Live performance elements are permitted during the worship service at places of worship

  5. No restrictions on the number of performers and crew, or the number of performers allowed to unmask for live performances. They no longer need to conduct additional testing. But, all performers and crew must be fully vaccinated.

  6. Other SMMs for mask-off activities, such as the 1m safe distancing requirement and the prevailing group size of 10 Pax must continue to be complied with. As for mask-on activities, there’s no need for maintaining 1m safe distance from other groups.

  7. F&B is allowed in places of worship by adhering to point no. 6 above. Food must be served individually.

  8. F&B is not allowed if the religious activities/worship services are conducted at any event spaces other than the place of worship itself.

  9. All attendees must still check in to the event using TraceTogether-only SafeEntry unless the venue is already subject to SafeEntry and VDS checks separately.
