Halcyon & Crane is an all-day, café-style dining & drinking offering contemporary European cuisine with Sichuan flavour influences. It is located on the 3rd floor of The Paragon shopping mall. It offers a cosy and relaxing atmosphere with ample seating space - most importantly, they have quite a couple of tables for 5. You could safely expect a short queue when you visit this place, probably due to The Paragon shopping mall being less crowded than other shopping malls in the Orchard area. We have gone there twice on Sunday afternoon to spend our teatime, and so far we have always gotten a table for our big group of 5 without even reserving a table beforehand! Should you decide to come, our recommendation would be their Aburi Mentaiko Fries ($15) to share with your friends and family! It is a good substitute for a plate of truffle fries, and we personally love it so much. As for the drinks, we really love their fancy coffee & tea as well as their one-for-one cocktails!
P.S. Their tableware is so pretty, and we could not stop staring at them! The good news is they do sell some of their mugs and plates there as well!

Birds Of A Feather is Halcyon & Crane’s sister restaurant. It is an all-day dining, cafe, and bar designed to bring the nature and laid-back lifestyle of Chengdu to Singapore. The ambience of this cafe is something that we would like you to experience by yourself! As you enter the cafe, you will be greeted by lush greenery, and a few openings on the roof that let sunlight from the outside enter the space, transforming the atmosphere of the place to be like a hidden magical forest. With its dimmed lighting, the cafe offers such a cosy ambience! The place is also very spacious and has a lot of tables and chairs to accommodate many people - definitely suitable for your big group of 5! As for the food, they specialize in contemporary western cuisine with Sichuan influence. We were so glad to find this hidden gem during our weekend afternoon!
A great ambience, good food and ample time to catch up with your friends without being worried about getting kicked out from the cafe!

Marmalade Pantry

Marmalade Pantry is famous for its pastas, cupcakes, weekend brunches and great tea accompaniments. This Marmalade Pantry branch is located on the first floor of Oasia Hotel Downtown. The nearest MRT to reach this place will be Tanjong Pagar MRT. It is very convenient to find this place! Besides, it is situated in the less crowded side of Tanjong Pagar. So, if you are in a big group of 5, you should not be worried about not having a table when you get there as Marmalade Pantry at Oasia Hotel Downtown is very spacious and has a lot of tables and chairs to offer.
