This follows the successful completion of oil spill clean-up operations earlier this month. With water quality restored to normal levels, beach lovers can now safely enjoy the ocean once again.
In a Facebook post on 27 Sep 2024, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu and NParks confirmed that the waters along East Coast Park have normalised and are now safe for public recreation use following the June oil spill.
Here are some suggested activities at the beach that you and your loved ones can consider to celebrate the reopening of all of Singapore's beaches!
Suggested Weekend Activities at the Beach:
Swimming: Dive into the waters and cool off with a relaxing swim.
Wakeboarding: For thrill-seekers, try wakeboarding along the coastline.
Beach Volleyball: Bring a volleyball, net and enjoy some friendly competition.
BBQ: Rent a BBQ pit and grill your favorite dishes with friends and family.
Camping: Spend a night under the stars by applying for a camping permit.
Picnicking: Pack a lunch and enjoy a peaceful picnic by the sea.
