The Live Turtle Museum Singapore will be closing its doors at Lorong Chencharu from 28 February 2025. This unexpected closure marks the end of an era for the beloved sanctuary, which has been home to a rare and diverse collection of turtles and tortoises.
Originally intended as a temporary site for less than two years, the museum remained at its location for nearly six years due to delays caused by the pandemic.
Visitors have long been captivated by the museum’s unique residents, from the mysterious river turtles to the powerful Alligator Snapping Turtle and the beautifully patterned Radiated Tortoise. The Malaysian Giant River Turtle, known for granting wishes, and the rare Pig-Nosed Flying Turtle have also drawn fascination from nature lovers.
While preparations for a new site are underway, the museum is facing financial challenges during this transition period. Support from the community is deeply appreciated, whether through visits or donations to help care for the turtles. Those wishing to contribute may do so via PayNow to UEN 52933221C.
The museum’s operating hours remain from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday to Monday (closed on Tuesdays), at #01, 81 Lor Chencharu, 769198. This is the last chance for visitors to experience this rare world of turtles before the museum moves to its next chapter.
