Tipsy Flamingo is located at Raffles City Shopping Centre, one of the busiest districts in town!
The brief from the client was simply to have a beach-themed restaurant-bar in the heart of a bustling city area. With this in mind, the client had carefully picked the best location that could convey the idea.

“Why not create an indoor swimming pool with indoor cabanas?”
In addition to the client’s brief, the designers felt that the word "Flamingo” could bring back memories of the pink flamingo float commonly seen in resorts. This idea, sparked the realization of the unique pool concept.

Like its other sister outlets from Tipsy Collective, Tipsy Flamingo features many eye-catching neon displays with creative slogans. Once you set foot in the space, you will be greeted by the strong beach vibes with a twist of modern retro style.

Since one of the clients has a Peranakan descent, a few touches of the Peranakan element have been infused into their extensive menu and the interior design of the space. As they work closely with the designers of Homeworks Consultancy on this project, you might notice their furniture selection, wallpaper choices, and fabric patterns are all customized.

Like any other commercial design projects, budget was definitely a constraint that designers need to manoeuvre. Instead of using furniture made of rattan, the designers decided to select look-alike rattan furniture made of PVC as a substitute. They also have gone for pebble wash flooring in order to create the visual effect of having sand between your toes as you walk into the space.
Due to management and maintenance issues, the designer’s initial idea of bringing an indoor swimming pool filled with water into the dining area has been replaced by projecting water reflection on the ceiling instead.

You no longer need to travel for that outdoor beach ambience on your night out. It is now just right next to you in the city, recreating that nostalgic yet exciting space with a featured pool and unique design theme.
Tipsy Flamingo undoubtedly has managed to bring the outdoors in!

Tipsy Flamingo might just be the first restaurant-bar in Singapore to introduce the concept of indoor swimming pool and cabana! You can even do ‘sky gazing’ while you are dining indoors!
It is a great pleasure to share this new exciting space where Homeworks Consultancy once again created a breakthrough design within our local scene.
